When a real estate agent comes to your home to present a Comparative Market Evaluation (CMA), there is—despite stacks of evidence to the contrary—oh-so-much temptation to price high and “see what happens.”
I could write 37 blog posts about why testing the market is problematic. However, as your REALTOR®, my job is to lead you far, far away from such distractions and coach you toward loftier goals … such as SELLING your home. And selling your home means setting a price that makes buyers say “Wow, I don’t want to lose this home to the next person who sees it.”
That’s not to say that we agents are perfect leaders all of the time. We don’t have a crystal ball. We make mistakes. And compromises are part of the job.
But my underlying goal is to sell houses, not “get listings.”
