Redwood is a relatively mature neighbourhood in South Lethbridge. It has a mixture of commercial, recreational, and residential uses. Residential uses include single-family homes, townhomes, duplexes, apartment complexes, senior housing, and high rise units.
Amenities: College Centre serves as a major commercial hub in the neighbourhood, and it includes a variety of shopping, professional, dining, financial, medical, and retail outlets. Two hotels are also in the neighbourhood, one of which has an indoor waterpark open to the public. Redwood is also within driving distance to the big box retail centre in the south end of the city.
The 4 parks in the neighbourhood are Cedar Park, Palm Park, Redwood Park, and Sequoia Park. Together, they provide a variety of amenities, including trails, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, bocce ball courts, and sports fields. Redwood is also within walking distance to Lakeview Park.
Other than the parks, there are no recreational opportunities in the Redwood neighbourhood, but it is within walking distance to ENMAX Centre, Exhibition Park, and Henderson Park.
The community has abundant access to three major roadways (43 Street, Highway 4, and Mayor Magrath Drive), making it easy to access the rest of the city by car. Redwood is serviced by 4 bus routes, one of which meanders through the neighbourhood.
Churches: The LDS church and the City Light Church are the only churches. There are several other churches within walking distance from the neighbourhood.
Schools: There are no schools in the Redwood neighbourhood, but Lakeview Elementary School and Gilbert Paterson Middle School are within walking distance, as is Lethbridge College.
