Mountain Heights is an established Westside neighbourhood, with the last home built about 10 years ago. The homes come in a variety of styles, and while single family homes dominant the community, there are plenty of duplexes, fourplexes, and townhomes.
Amenities: Commercial amenities in the neighbourhood are limited to Macleod Crossing Mall, a small strip mall, but a second strip mall is across the street, and West Village Mall is within walking distance.
There are four parks in the community—Mt. Crandell Park, Rocky Mountain Pointe, Rocky Mountain Park, and Mt. Blakiston Park—but the neighbourhood is also a short walk away from Nicholas Sheran Park, the largest Westside park and the second largest park in Lethbridge. Popson Park and Cottonwood Park in the Old Man River valley are a short drive from the neighbourhood.
The community has a high proportion of churches considering how new it is. New Apostolic Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, LDS Church, and Immanuel Lutheran Church are all within the neighbourhood, but several other churches are within walking distance.
One bus route covers Mountain Heights, but a second bus drives near the neighbourhood. Both routes have service to the University of Lethbridge transit terminal. University Drive defines the eastern border of the community and provides easy access to Whoop Up Drive and Highway 3.
Schools: There is only one school in Mountain Heights: Dr. Gerald B. Probe Elementary School. A Catholic fine arts elementary school is a short walk away in nearby Riverstone. G.S. Lakie Middle School and the Westside High schools are less than a 5 minute drive. The University of Lethbridge is within a reasonable walking distance.
