As a service provider, real estate or otherwise, your job is so much more than taking and filling orders. Your job is to be a problem-seeking missile. It is never up to the client to diagnose problems and solve them. It’s up to you! That’s where your value ($$) lives. Unfortunately, it remains too easy for real estate professionals to passively wait for the client to bubble over with stress before taking action.
Put another way, if we are just waiting for the client to tell us what to do, that’s kindergarten level real estate.
I’ve always said, there are no perfect real estate transactions. There are also no perfect people, no perfect homes, and no perfect scenarios to buy or sell real estate. If these things existed, no one would need a real estate agent. Buying or selling a home is complicated and stressful. Things will always go wrong. Unexpected challenges will always arise.
If you’re buying or selling a home, hope is not a strategy.
This is why we ask you to call us 30 days before you want to list your home on the open market. It enables us to ask you powerful questions about the home and about your expectations. From there, we put a plan in place to prepare, promote and sell the home quickly and for top dollar. We do this because ‘playing it by ear’ is unethical and lazy. You deserve a great result when you hire a REALTOR®. Full stop.
