The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada have released an interactive tool called the Homebuyer’s Road Map. I’m all about educating the client so I wanted to share.
Big Fat Disclaimer #1: I’m sharing this interactive guide because I think it can help. I’m not sharing it because I think it will answer all of your questions about buying a home or working with a REALTOR®. For THAT, you need to call me <wink>.
What’s offered here is a neat and tidy summation of what happens
in a perfect world on paper when you start down the path toward buying a home. The tool is simple. It’s clear. It provides a fun(?) way to quickly glean nitty gritty details that tend to get lost amid the awe and overwhelm of shopping for shelter.
Big Fat Disclaimer #2: Please know that there is nothing formulaic about finding the RIGHT home for YOU. Resale homes—and yes, many builder homes—are like people: they’re all different in their own special way. Homebuyers are all different too. Matching the right buyer to the right home based on taste, lifestyle, budget and myriad other factors … AND successfully closing a real estate transaction with everyone’s sanity intact … AND ensuring the client is protected AND darned happy with the result … well, there is no tool for that. It’s art and science. It’s a people thing.
It’s why most folks still choose to work with a real estate agent.
Take a cruise through the guide and let me know what you think. Is this helpful info? Did you already know this and then some? Do you even care?
Hint: use the “more” and “back” buttons at the bottom right to navigate through the bullet points of each section (also clickable). And no cheating. Go through EACH section before skipping off to some other real estate site, okay?
Now go on. Get smart(er).
