In Tribe of Mentors, Tim Ferris curates advice and hard-won wisdom from whom he calls “the world’s best.” Ferris uses a question-answer format that elegantly enables each interviewee to share useable tools and ideas. No filler. No wishy-washy meandering and philosophizing.
I personally took away two big ideas:
1. Failure is an opportunity: not only is it inevitable in life and business that we will fail, how we respond to failure is perhaps what separates the good from the great.
2. Saying ‘No’ is hard but necessary if you are to maintain focus on achieving goals: today’s entrepreneur is challenged by the limitations of time. But if you want to achieve anything substantial, you must politely sidestep distractions, even if that means saying ‘No’ to people… often.
I go deeper into these ideas in my video below, including some comments about how these lessons apply to my own business as a team leader and REALTOR®. (Hint: none of it’s been easy!)
