About Karri
Your 5-Star Business Coach
As a former real estate agent and mortgage broker with over 14 years' experience, I've built a reputation for going the extra mile. That includes 100+ 5-star Google reviews. Every client who trusted me was much more than transaction. Coaching clients are no exception.
Prior to my work in real estate and finance, I helped launch what grew into a saleable, 7-figure business. I have also worked in economic development, consulting, training, and web marketing--back when being on the 'world wide web' was new and thrilling!
In 2019 I led a nationally recognized provincial election campaign that took me to the doorstep of thousands of people as well as speaking from the stage. As an introvert, this was a big deal. Suffice to say, I'm willing to do hard things.
This diversity of experience means I relate and engage with people in an impactful and always-respectful way. Trust and vulnerability are sacred. I will always dig deep to find the truth of a situation and bring forward the best in people.
Business Street Cred: Don't Talk to Me About Top Line
Every award ceremony and every coaching company likes to brag about agent 'top line.' Gross commission. GCI. Volume. Etc ...
Except in many Canadian markets, the average home price is edging toward or has soared past a million dollars. You only need to turn a few units to look like a high-grossing rockstar. (Alberta agents have to close double the units their BC and Ontario counterparts do, to make ends meet, but I digress.)
Regardless of home price, many agents and brokerages turning high units would do well to have a look under the hood. Shaky systems and mediocre service tend to go unnoticed when revenues are growing. What are the agents and owners paying themselves? What are profit margins? And does anyone get eight hours sleep and a day off so they can deliver on what they promise?
The customer will accept what they get because it's a complex purchase. They'll also go somewhere else next time.
No one talks about this. The real estate industry recognizes top line above all else: hustle or die. While I know how to build top line (you need strong revenues), there is a call for return to the fundamentals: service, professionalism and to be paid well for what you do. Revenue--top line--is only a starting point.
