West Highlands is a small, relatively new west Lethbridge community. It’s a mixed density area situated close to a major retail centre.
Amenities: Commercial amenities are concentrated in West Lethbridge Towne Centre and West Highlands Town Centre. Combined, they offer a variety of retail, grocery, health and other services.
There are two parks in the community, taking up a significant portion of land mass. Highlands Park is the largest of the two and features a large pond.
Churches: The LDS Church is the only church in the community, but a Baptist congregation meets in nearby Indian Battle Heights.
One bus covers the neighbourhood, providing service to the University of Lethbridge, where it connects users to other parts of the city. The proximity of West Highlands to University Drive makes it easy to access Whoop Up Drive and Crowsnest Trail in order to reach other parts of Lethbridge.
Schools: There are no schools in the neighbourhood, but Mike Mountain Horse (elementary) and Father Leonard Van Tighem (elementary and junior high) are within walking distance. G.S. Lakie Middle School and the west side high schools (public and Catholic) are a short bike or car ride away.
