Uplands is a well-developed neighbourhood in North Lethbridge. Home building began in the area over 30 years ago. You can find a wide range of housing types including, single-family homes, four-plexes, and apartments.
Amenities: Commercial services are available in Uplands Commons, and a major retail centre anchored by Walmart is within walking distance of the neighbourhood. Commuters working in the Sherring industrial and business parks could easily walk to work, and the Anderson Industrial Park is only a short drive or bike ride away.
There are five parks in the neighbourhood, including Chinook Park, which contains a lake and a network of walking trails. The community will be directly south of the proposed north regional park, which will be the third largest park in the city, providing numerous recreational opportunities.
Two buses service the neighbourhood, and the Northside transit terminal is within walking distance, offering easy access by bus to the rest of north Lethbridge, as well as downtown and Lethbridge College. Because of the neighbourhood’s proximity to 26th Avenue, Scenic Drive, and 28th Street, travelling to the other parts of the city is reasonably convenient.
Schools: There are no schools in Uplands, but land is currently set aside for a future elementary school. Park Meadows School and Lethbridge Christian School are both within walking distance of the community, and Wilson Middle School and Winston Churchill High School are a short bike or car ride away.
