In its final development phases, RiverStone is a relatively new Westside neighbourhood, with the first home built less than 20 years ago. It’s a primarily single-family residential community, and homes are designed based on the Craftsman style.
Amenities: Residents can access some commercial services at small strip malls in nearby Mountain Heights, Varsity Village, and Sunridge, each just a short walk away. West Village Mall is also fairly close, being easily accessible by care or bike.
There are five parks in the community, and the two largest—Grand River Park and William Pierce Park—combine to make one of the largest neighbourhood parks in West Lethbridge. Fishing is available in William Pierce Park.
RiverStone is covered by two bus routes, providing service to the University of Lethbridge, where transit users can connect to other Westside routes or travel downtown. The neighbourhood is just off University Drive, which allows for easy access to Whoop Up Drive and Crownest Trail.
Schools: St. Patrick’s Fine Arts Elementary School is the only school in the community, and Gerald Probe—the nearest public elementary school—is within walking distance. G.S. Lakie and the Westside High schools are a short drive from RiverStone.
Determined University of Lethbridge students could walk to the university in under 10 minutes from the neighbourhood, and the two are connected via the Coalbanks trail system.
